Installation
First steps after install
This page is the first configuration pass after the checklist. It is for the WHMCS administrator.
Checks do not run by themselves. A monitor stays Unknown until the WHMCS cron, the dedicated cron URL, or Force Run executes it. A 60-second interval still waits for the next cron tick.
1 — Create a status page
- Open Addons → Uptime Monitor 2 → Status Pages.
- Click Add Status Page.
- Set a title and a slug. The slug becomes the public path when pretty URLs are on:
/status/{slug}. - Leave access at Public for the first test.
- Save.
2 — Add one HTTP monitor
- Open Monitors and click Add Monitor.
- Choose the page you just created.
- Set type to
httpand target to a URL you control, includinghttps://. - Leave the interval at 300 seconds and the timeout at 10 seconds.
- Set Retry Count to 2 so one failed check does not mark the service Down.
- Save.
3 — Run one check
- Open Tools.
- Run the new monitor, or click Force Run All Checks Now.
- Return to Monitors. The badge should leave Unknown.
| Result | What it means |
|---|---|
| Up | The target answered inside the timeout and passed keyword rules, if any |
| Down | The fail streak reached Retry Count. Read the last check before changing the target |
| Unknown | No check has finished. Cron is not calling the addon |
4 — Open the page as a visitor
- Client area:
https://your-whmcs.example/index.php?m=UptimeMonitor2 - Pretty URL, after you enable it:
https://your-whmcs.example/status/{slug}
