Managing Assistants

Guide 2 min read

This page explains the Assistants list and what an "assistant" represents. It is for administrators who want to see, enable/disable, or remove existing assistants.

Navigate to Addons → AI Copilot Suite → Assistants.

What is an assistant?

An assistant is a configured AI persona: a combination of an AI provider, a chat model, instructions (system prompt), a display identity (name and icon), a welcome message, and routing rules that decide when this particular assistant is shown to a client or visitor instead of another one.

You can define multiple assistants — for example, a general support assistant for most pages, and a specialized sales assistant that only appears on the domain-registration and cart pages.

Note

A default assistant is automatically created on upgrade from a prior version's legacy settings. On a fresh install, the list starts empty with the message "No assistants yet."

Assistants list

Once at least one assistant is saved, the list view shows:

Column Meaning
Name Internal name of the assistant
Provider The AI provider this assistant uses
Model The chat model this assistant uses
Route priority Determines which assistant wins when more than one could match the current page/department
Status Enabled or Disabled
Actions Edit, Delete

Actions

Action Effect
+ Add assistant Opens the Add assistant form
Edit Opens the same form pre-filled for an existing assistant
Delete Removes the assistant (confirmation required)

Warning

Deleting an assistant that is actively referenced by ongoing conversations, or that is the only assistant matching a page/department, will affect where the widget appears. Reassign or disable routing carefully before deleting.

Troubleshooting
