Installation

Requirements and Upload

Installation 2 min read

This page lists the system requirements for Hetzner Data Center Core and walks through uploading the module files to your WHMCS installation. It is written for administrators performing the initial installation.

Requirements

  • WHMCS 8.13 or later
  • PHP 8.1 or later
  • A valid Hetzner account with API access for the families you plan to sell (Hetzner Cloud, Storage Box, and/or Robot Webservice credentials)

Note

You do not need credentials for all three families at once. Only the family or families you intend to sell require API access — see Architecture and Families.

Upload the module files

Hetzner Data Center Core ships as four module folders: one addon module (the core) and three server modules, one per service family.

  1. Upload the modules/addons/srv_hetzner_dc/ folder to modules/addons/ in your WHMCS installation.
  2. Upload the modules/servers/srv_hetzner_cloud/ folder to modules/servers/.
  3. Upload the modules/servers/srv_hetzner_storagebox/ folder to modules/servers/.
  4. Upload the modules/servers/srv_hetzner_dedicated/ folder to modules/servers/.

Warning

Upload all four folders together. The three server modules depend on the core addon's shared libraries — activating a server module without the core addon installed will fail.

Tip

If you only plan to sell one or two families, you can skip uploading the server modules you do not need. Always upload the core addon (srv_hetzner_dc) regardless of which families you sell.

File permissions

Make sure file permissions allow your web server to read all uploaded files. On most shared or managed hosting environments, the default permissions applied by your FTP/SFTP client or file manager are sufficient — no files need to be made writable by the web server for installation.

Next step

Continue to Activation and Verification to activate the addon.
