Admin Suite Overview

Guide 3 min read

This page walks through the full administrative suite of Hetzner Data Center Core: the core dashboard, each family's credentials page, the import flows, product settings, and where WHMCS grants admin role access to the addon. It is written for WHMCS administrators setting up or maintaining the addon.

Accessing the suite

Navigate to Addons → Hetzner Data Center Core in the WHMCS administrator area. The suite uses a top navigation bar to switch between the core dashboard and the three service families — Cloud, Storage Box, and Dedicated.

Core dashboard

The landing page of the addon is the Core dashboard, which shows one health card per family with connection status, linked service count, and last sync time, plus the snapshot cache status for Cloud. Start here to confirm every family is connected and syncing correctly before drilling into a specific family. See Core — Dashboard for the full breakdown of status indicators and cache fields.

Credentials, by family

Each service family authenticates against Hetzner independently, and each has its own credentials page:

Family Credentials page What is entered
Hetzner Cloud Cloud Token Hetzner Cloud project API token
Storage Box Storage Box Token Storage Box API token
Dedicated Dedicated Credentials Robot web service username and password

Tokens and passwords are encrypted by WHMCS and are never logged or shown in the frontend.

Inventory and import flows

Each family's Servers or Boxes tab shows the live inventory pulled directly from Hetzner, so an administrator can see exactly what exists in the Hetzner project or Robot account without leaving WHMCS.

From the inventory view, the Import action links an unmanaged Hetzner resource to WHMCS by either:

  • attaching it to an existing WHMCS service, or
  • generating a new order/service in WHMCS automatically, with billing and configuration assigned from the matching product.

Import pricing uses a configurable markup over the Hetzner base price — see each family's settings page below for where that markup is set.

Product settings, by family

Product-level behavior — visibility of client-area actions, import markup, and cron/stock options — is configured per family:

Family Settings page
Hetzner Cloud Cloud — Product Settings
Storage Box Storage Box — Settings
Dedicated Servers Dedicated — Settings

Cloud also has two additional catalog-management pages: Config Options (generates WHMCS configurable options from the live Hetzner catalog) and ISO Settings (controls which ISO images clients may mount).

Cron jobs

The Core → Cron Jobs page is the central scheduler for all background tasks — usage sync and overage billing for Cloud, order reconciliation and auction sync for Dedicated, and inventory count checks for Storage Box. See Core — Cron Jobs for interval configuration, log viewing, and manual force-run.

WHMCS admin role permissions

Access to the addon is controlled through standard WHMCS admin role permissions, the same mechanism used for any other WHMCS addon module. To grant or restrict a WHMCS staff member's access:

  1. Navigate to Setup → Staff Management → Administrator Roles.
  2. Edit the role assigned to the staff member (or create a new role).
  3. Under the addon permissions section, enable or disable Hetzner Data Center Core for that role.
  4. Save the role.

Tip

Keep import and credentials pages restricted to senior staff — these pages can create billable services and change API tokens that affect live infrastructure.
